Choir is more than just a class or an extracurricular activity for me; it's my life. It's a passion that I share with many other students at DeSoto High School. The choir program here is not just about singing, but also about building character, fostering teamwork, and promoting cultural understanding through music.

The choir program makes up a significant part of the fine arts department at our school. According to the National Association for Music Education, students who participate in music programs like ours are more likely to excel in their academic studies and develop essential life skills such as discipline, patience, and creativity (National Association for Music Education).

Unfortunately, our beloved choir program is under threat of being removed from DeSoto High School. This would be devastating not only for us students who love singing but also for the entire school community that benefits from our performances and contributions.
