Texas Senate has passed a law that will remove all single family zoning in the entire state. No longer will cities be able to designate what real estate is zoned for single families. They claim this will enable owners to have a mother-in-law house or convert an above garage space for rental. However the average homeowner could find themselves living next to a duplex, quadplex or even an apartment building.

Now one of the groups most happy about this are the developers that now see no hinderance to destroying neighborhoods and creating dense population areas that THEY control completely. Setting high rents is the very thing they dream of doing. They claim it would help with affordable housing, but the poor would be the very first to be made homeless as property is gobbled up to create high rises.

No longer would there be peaceful neighborhoods to walk thru, bike thru or enjoy trees and nature. They even put out information calling single homes immoral! They would rather see this area of Texas looking like lower Manhatten. 

Imagine going to work or school and having to leave an hour early just to make sure you have time to take the elevator down to the ground floor! I know this seems far fetched, but that is a reality in lower Manhatten right now. 

Texans love the wide open spaces, but these corporations who have a lot of foreign investors want us living on top of each other all in the name of profit for themselves. 

They have already convinced our senate in Austin that this is a better money maker and have bypassed letting Texans vote on the matter. 

We need to stop them before we lose our state entirely.  They have already conquered California and Washington state.
