Cheshire East Council’s (CEC) planning application for spillway ‘improvement’ works at Poynton Park and Pool is now registered (ref 23/4152M). If planning permission is granted, we expect tree felling to start immediately so it's completed before the nesting season starts in March.
The proposed loss of trees is CATASTROPHIC. Out of 86 trees over a 500 metre stretch, 31 trees are identified for removal and only 6 trees will remain relatively unaffected.
We need YOU to OBJECT. CEC’s closing date for the receipt of objections is Wednesday, 27 December 2023.
Please don't think others will do this and you don't have to, we need to generate as many meaningful objections as possible. For advice on how to object please visit our website - www.poyntonpool.org/
There are four ways to object:
1) Through the Planning portal here
2) Via email: planning@cheshireeast.gov.uk
3) Via post (please allow for Christmas postage):
Head of Planning and Housing
Development Management
PO Box 606

4) A letter in an addressed envelope (to the address above) left at the Civic Hall reception
Note: for methods 2, 3 and 4 quote the planning reference number - 23/4152M - and the address of the location - The Dam Embankment of Poynton Pool Reservoir, Poynton Park, London Road North (B5092), Poynton.
Thank you for helping us to save our trees for future generations!
