I am a proud member of Pennsville Smart Growth, an organization dedicated to maintaining the distinctive, high-quality lifestyle of Pennsville, New Jersey. Our community is at risk as rezoning threatens our neighborhoods, pushing them towards high-density housing. This unnecessary increase in density could lead to overcrowding, straining our local resources, infrastructure, and potentially damaging our environment.

Making matters more personal, this could detrimentally affect me and my neighbors, altering the tight-knit community we love and cherish. The potential impacts of this rezoning aren't simply theoretical - they are real and could drastically decrease our quality of life.

According to population studies, densely populated neighborhoods often lead to increased traffic, limited parking, and the overuse of public amenities, which could unfortunately be our future (Population Association of America). Moreover, the proposed high-density housing does not align with our values and the character of our town.

We urge the decision makers to consider more responsible, community-focused growth approaches that wouldn't disrupt our peaceful neighborhoods. We advocate for small-scale developments that respect our local environment, infrastructure, and values that make Pennsville the wonderful place it is.
