BREAKING NEWS: A new public determination meeting date was announced yesterday for Stages 2 & 3 of the Penshurst Park Masterplan. The new meeting date is Tuesday, 13th March 2018 at 2pm. The meeting will be held at the Georges River Council’s Hurstville Civic Centre.
I'm sure a lot of you have something to say about what will happen to Penshurst Park, and are even passionate about how it will affect you and your family and friends. You are the people who use the park now. How will the council's plans for the park affect your use of the park? What do you not like about the plans that you think should change? We need people to tell their personal stories. Even if we convince the Sydney South Planning Panel to decide to change parts of the plan to benefit the community that will be a great win!
If you do want to speak at the meeting, I can help you with composing a short speech. Or if you're nervous about public speaking, you can let me know what you want someone else to say on your behalf. I'm going to gather a group of people who want to speak at the meeting. I'll be calling the Planning Panels today to register myself and to find out any other details about speaking at the meeting. Please contact me before next Tuesday if you'd like to speak, or want me or someone else to say something for you. 0408 912 248 k.skelsey@bigpond.com so that we have time to prepare to register.
You can REGISTER TO SPEAK for three minutes at the meeting by contacting the Planning Panels Secretariat before 4pm on Friday, 09 March 2018
on 02 8217 2060
or email enquiry@planningpanels.nsw.gov.au
Our meeting is listed under the Sydney South Planning Panel.

Penshurst Park is first on the agenda.
Relevant documents will be available on the Planning Panels website (www.planningpanels.nsw.gov.au) at least seven days before the meeting.
Any person may attend the meeting to observe.
If you'd like to see how one of these meetings is run, there will also be a different Planning Panels meeting tomorrow night for Sutherland issues. You can see information about that meeting also under the Sydney South Planning Panel list of meetings. This other meeting is happening Wednesday 28th February 10:30 AM at the Sutherland Shire Council, 4-20 Eton Street Sutherland. The Sutherland Council Assessment Reports for those meetings have already been published and can be found at these links;

I plan to attend the Sutherland meeting tomorrow morning to get an idea of what these meetings are like, and I'll get back to you afterwards with an update about anything I've learned and anything that we can apply to our own meeting in March.
But please do consider speaking at our meeting for Penshurst Park on 13th March. The future of Penshurst Park depends on this final meeting. Once the DA2017/0354 is approved there will be no more chances to change what is going to happen to Penshurst Park. So if you have something to say about the playground, artificial turf, car and bus parking, buildings, netball courts and the loss of grass, lawns and gardens now is your chance. You can tell them what you think!
