Hello to everyone who signed the Penshurst Park petition, The FINAL PUBLIC DETERMINATION MEETING of the Sydney South Planning Panel, for the Penshurst Park Masterplan Stages 2&3, is only A FEW DAYS AWAY ! It will be held 2pm, Tuesday 13th March at Hurstville Civic Centre (Georges River Council Chambers, cnr McMahon and Dora St). If the Panel approves DA2017/0354, then the changes will result in; - replacement of virtually all grass with synthetic turf, & many trees with buildings, - demolition of the netball courts & existing canteen/amenities building, - half the space for the children’s playground, picnic area & pool lawn, - increased, privatised usage of the public park, - inadequate provision for increased traffic & greater demand for parking. The Council Assessment Report recommends that the DA be approved. See https://penshurstpark.wordpress.com WE CAN STILL FIGHT THIS ! WE MUST RALLY NOW if we want the Planning Panel to overturn the DA or achieve any adjustments to the DA, such as more grass and trees, more natural play space and adequate parking. WHAT CAN YOU DO? It will give moral support to the people who have the courage to speak, and demonstrate to the Panel that lots of people want a good outcome for our park.
