Formal Request for Missing Arborist and Environmental Documentation – Mandarin Road Sidewalk Project
I have reviewed the JTA’s recently released 30% Concept Design Plans for the Mandarin Road Sidewalk Project (Project No. 075923), dated April 24, 2025.
Upon detailed review, I respectfully submit the following formal request for additional documentation and clarification. While the preliminary plans reference general tree removal and the use of pedestrian boardwalks to mitigate root impact, they do not include specific environmental or tree impact details needed for community transparency and public review.
Specifically, I am requesting:
Detailed Tree Inventory and Removal Plan
Identification of all trees within the project area by species, diameter, and health condition.
Specific count of trees proposed for removal or trimming.
Clear marking of trees that will be preserved, removed, or relocated.
Certified Arborist Impact Report
Professional evaluation of how the sidewalk construction will affect tree root systems, canopy health, and long-term viability.
Recommendations for preservation or mitigation.
Environmental Impact Documentation
Wetlands impact analysis, including boundaries and protective measures.
Any applicable environmental clearances, permits, or assessments.
Final or Updated Conceptual Design with Tree and Environmental Considerations Integrated
Final sidewalk alignment incorporating tree preservation and environmental findings.
Construction Phasing and Community Impact Analysis
Information on how construction will be staged to minimize disruption to residents, wildlife, and traffic.
Given the significance of this project to the Mandarin community, I respectfully ask that these materials be made available for public review before the May 14, 2025, community meeting to ensure an informed discussion and transparent process.
Please confirm receipt of this request and advise when these documents will be released.
Sincerely,
Renee Slater
