Preserve Music Education in Mesa Public Schools

The Issue

As an active music teacher in Mesa, the potential eradication of 4-6th grade music education from our public schools is a deeply personal and concerning issue to me, and it should concern you, too. Music is not just a subject; it enriches lives and opens our minds to creativity and expression. It has been proven to enhance children's cognitive development, teamwork skills, and self-confidence. According to a study by the University of Kansas, schools that have music programs have significantly higher graduation rates than do those without programs (90.2 percent compared to 72.9 percent). Yet, our children are at risk of losing this invaluable opportunity.Save Music Education in Mesa Public Schools

The right to a comprehensive education is more than just learning about math and science; it involves nurturing all the side of a child's intellect, including the musical one. It's time to enlighten the people of Mesa about the imminent risk facing our children's holistic education. Let's join hands to protect and champion music courses in our public schools. Please sign this petition to persuade the Mesa Public Schools administration to reconsider their decision and preserve music education in our schools.
