As someone who has held this place precious since childhood, I can easily attest to the tranquility it provides. This park allows both retired and active-duty servicemembers the ability to enjoy a day at the beach without unnecessary distractions and crowds. It is a treasured destination, dedicated solely to those who have pledged to protect us.

However, our little beach oasis is under threat. There is a proposal to open this secluded park up for public use, placing our military families' serene refuge at risk. Eglin Beach Park should remain under the control of Eglin AFB to ensure that it continues to serve as a getaway for our heroic servicemen and women.
