Thomas Patterson Maney is an accomplished American politician, lawyer, judge, and retired military officer. A member of the Republican Party, Maney has served as a State Representative for District 4 in the Florida House of Representatives since 2020. Born with a dedication to public service, Maney's career began in the military, where he served in the United States Army and retired in 2007 as a brigadier general. He was appointed as a county judge in Florida in 1989, a position he held until 2018. With a strong academic background, Maney earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Kentucky, a JD from the University of Louisville, and a Master's in International Relations from Troy State University. His diverse career also includes roles as an adjunct instructor at Okaloosa Walton Community College and the University of West Florida, as well as Founding Director at a Community Bank and an attorney in private practice.
