Preserve 234 Local Jobs at Legoland by Halting Outsourced Entertainment Offerings
The Issue
I have had the wonderful experience of watching numerous performers at Legoland over the years as they steadfastly improve their skills, grow artistically, and passionately share their dreams. Their dedication shines through every performance, lighting up smiles and sparking joy among all the guests. Despite this, Legoland plans to outsource its entertainment offerings to an out-of-state company, consequently eliminating over 234 local jobs - a devastating blow to these dedicated performers, managers, techs, and creative artists who have become a family over time.
This proposed move by Legoland not only threatens the livelihood of these talents but also risks losing the heart and soul of the park – local performers who truly understand and love their audience. Moreover, it contributes to the growing problem of job loss due to outsourcing. As the Economic Policy Institute reports, such outsourcing practices have led to the loss of more than 13.7 million U.S. jobs in the past decade alone.
It's time to show appreciation for these performers and staff and support them during this difficult time. We urge Legoland to reconsider its decision, to stand with its dedicated staff, to value the quality and warmth that these local talents bring to the park.
