Preservation of the Nature Area at Peterson Middle School

Preservation of the Nature Area at Peterson Middle School
The Issue
The Bryan Osborne Nature Area was built at Peterson Middle School in the early 1970's when it was still a High School. It was primarily constructed with teacher and student labor. The facility's purpose was to bring nature closer to school kids for more in-depth, hands-on study. Thousands of current and former students throughout the Santa Clara Unified School District continue to visit the Nature Area every year. It is an invaluable local resource!
For over 50 years the Nature Area has been maintained by a collaboration of parents, students and teachers. Unfortunately, the Nature Area has fallen into disrepair. Endangered animals and plants that once thrived in the Nature Area are either completely gone or in serious decline due to lack of proper maintenance.
Your signature tells SCUSD to properly restore the Bryan Osborne Nature Area to its former glory. Your signature tells SCUSD you support its long term maintenance allowing it to continue benefitting our school children for generations to come!
