Preparedness: For the Safety of All  

       In the midst of chaos and disaster, we are badly affected especially if we lack preparedness, knowledge, and resources to use. Especially that our country, the Philippines, is prone to natural disasters like earthquakes, typhoon , and volcanic eruptions because we are located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. In the past few years, we experienced a number of disasters like the eruption of Taal Volcano, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake in Surigao del Sur, and the latest typhoon "Julian" that have greatly affected the lives of every Pilipino. Not only that we lost our private properties, but a lot of people also lost their lives. These things continue to happened not only because we lack knowledge about the disasters what is the right thing to do, but we also lack of resources to use during these disasters.

    Lacking of resources will badly impact us during in time of need. And if these things continue, this will cause big casualties just like destruction of properties and businesses, emotional and mental stress to survivor, injuries and illnesses, and even death. 

    That's why we need to do everything that we could to lessen the casualties and the fatalities of this events. The government should plan swiftly to avoid the delay. They should built a more better evacuation centers, invest in medical institutions so that they can better aid the victims during disasters, and create more programs like seminars and training  that will teach people what to do during the natural disasters. They should also invest in resources needed during disasters like medical aid, whistles, flashlights, ready-to-eat food, and many more. 

    Even though this natural disasters are inevitable, it's better to be prepared than to stay unprotected and in way of harm. Sign this petition to save not only yourself, but also the lives of others.
