Throughout the world, you’ll notice more and more people are not having kids. Instead, they have fur babies. This could be due to choice, or being unable to have children, or many other reasons. Finding a pet friendly home in Nova Scotia can be quite a challenge. I am hoping to send this petition, with many signatures to our Premier of Nova Scotia, Stephen MacNeil, in hopes Nova Scotians can have more freedom in finding a comfortable home for ourselves as well as our fur babies.

Searching for a home, shouldn’t be as stressful and frustrating as it can be for people whom have four legged fur babies. We shouldn’t have to focus on what is pet friendly, which I feel many of us do. We should be focusing on finding a home that best suits our needs. Unfortunately in my experience, I’ve rushed to places and applied knowing they were pet friendly, but not knowing the type of home I was getting myself into; high prices, slumlords, etc. Then when you try to get yourself out of that situation, it seems to repeat itself.

My end goal, is to make it illegal to say “no” to having pets, when people apply for a house or apartment.
