Green-light Vampire Academy: Frostbite Movie

Green-light Vampire Academy: Frostbite Movie
The Issue

Above is the link to the first petition made by the #VAFamily, which had been a plea for the producers of the first film of the Vampire Academy series to give us the sequel, Frostbite. It has reached almost 34,000 signatures and it had worked. Almost. The producers have acquired supporters and financers to back up the Frostbite movie but they would only do so under one condition: the fans would have to raise $1.5 million.
The people at Preger then started an IndieGoGo campaign on the 6th of August, for the fans to raise the amount within 30 days, providing perks for the contributions. Unfortunately, by the end of the campaign, on the 5th of September, only $254,500 was raised.
With that being said, this petition serves to justify in our own way how much we—the fans, the #VAFamily—do want and would support the Frostbite movie. This is to Preger Entertainment and the investors they had managed to pull in.
We’d like to highlight some of the things the fans had accomplished and done for the campaign.
1) Within the first 24 hours, it had collected more than $100,000.
2) One fan claimed the Queen Bee Package worth $10,000, and another two claimed the Friends Forever Package worth $5,000 each.
3) During the 30 days, the #VAFamily held their own little campaigns, like the #1DollarCampaign and #TenDollarThursday. These required the fans to donate just $1 in one hour/one day and $10 every Thursdays. Many fans had joined in these.
4) On Twitter, we started a Massive Media Tweeting event where the fans all over the world would come together to tweet every week to various media Twitter accounts, such as @YahooMovies, @EW, @BuzzWorthyRadio, @iHeartRadio, etc. @BuzzWorthyRadio, The Buzzcast, had heard us and agreed to play the soundtrack of the first movie and to announce the campaign.
5) The fans challenged each other on Twitter and Facebook as well, aiming to spread the word about the campaign and to encourage donations of small amounts. Such challenges are related to ice, reading and more. Many had taken part.
6) Many fans had made videos on YouTube about how much they love the series and expressed their support for the second movie. One example is the #FansForFrostbite videos that can be found through the hashtag.
These are just some of the many things the fans have done to show our dedication. Even before the campaign, we have promised to stand by the producers and would do whatever it takes to make the rest of the books of our favourite series come to life. As a matter of fact, we have actually suggested a crowdfunding campaign. What we didn’t expect was how much we needed to raise not to produce the movie, but just to prove ourselves.
We feel that it’s unfair. We feel that our dedication, support and loyalty should not be measured in dollars and wealth. We did all that we could to promote the first movie. We did all that we could to promote the campaign. It is unfair that the fans—which majority are students with no extra income lying around—would have to raise that amount to prove our worth to get Frostbite. The #VAFamily have done all that we could to help and we will keep doing all that we can. We will not give up. We want the Frostbite movie. We want our beloved franchise to get the success it deserves. We are worthy.
Please, give us another chance. Please, green-light the Frostbite movie. A really good script is already ready. Most of the cast are ready. We want Frostbite. The #VAFamily is gathered here to prove our worth. We are here.
