Benoni city has become an area of illegal dumping in every corner .Although we support small business and creation of jobs we cannot have Scrapyard operating in residential area as this resulted in land and air pollution as from time and again the recyclers are burning rubbles and tyres .

We have reported the matter to Waste Management Dept of which they have promptly responded however as the days goes by the problem reoccurs .

We therefore request Ekurhuleni Municipality along with Waste Management department  to patrol the area in Harpour Street and the park in cnr Russel & Ampthill Avenue .We also need Prasa/Metrorail  to put fence around that area and attend Waste Management department to reach solution. The Scrapyard to move from Residential area to Industrial area . We also invite those that can educate in recycling without polluting our land to join hands in educating the recyclers.
