This issue is really close to home for me because my cat passed away last week because someone ran over her. Even tho they did take her to the vets that was the end of it and I feel like more should be done.

If a dog is run over you have to stop and take it to the vets and they might be prosecuted however cats don't have the same rights as a dog and if you run over a cat many people don't stop and the police won't get involved which I think is wrong. Each animal should have the same equal rights as the rest because cats are also family members and its absolutely devastating when something like this happens to them and nothing is done about it. 

However I'm hoping that this petition will help change the rules and make sure that cats have the same rights as dogs when it comes to road accidents. This petition will help me and my family because if we can help other cats and other families make sure they get the justice they deserve then this petition has won.
