Poverty Crisis in Venezuela

Poverty Crisis in Venezuela

The Issue

Venezuela is one of the most impoverished countries. They suffer from an increase in poverty rates. This means that they struggle with low income jobs, poor healthcare, and poor rural areas. We want to be able to provide a solution and raise more money for the poor Venezuelans. In Venezuela, the Poverty rate is growing as more and more citizens go hungry and lose their money to the crashing economy. Because of political corruption and a collapsing economy, there is less infrastructure, food, and basic necessities than in any other ordinary country. In Venezuela residents have been struggling to provide basic needs for their family. Poverty is a widespread issue among the population in Venezuela. Important places such as hospitals are losing medicine. Since poverty rates are increasing, hospitals struggle to stay open due to shortage of medicine. Many hospitals have no access to electricity or water. Compared to other countries in Latin America, Venezuela has the largest increase in poverty. Nearly 90 percent of Venezuelans live in poverty. In Venezuela, that number is 27.1%. And expected to be 30.5% more likely to be live below the poverty line In United States, 15.1% live below the poverty line. The 2019–2020 National Survey of Living Conditions have concluded that poverty spiked in 2019, officially making it the poorest country in Latin America. Studies show that 76.1% of citizens live on under $1.90 meaning that most people cannot afford to feed themselves let alone their kids. Taking aid from other countries may be the part of the saving they need.
