The students of B.A, B.SC, B.Com 6th semester in our esteemed University of Calcutta are facing an immense challenge due to the extremely short time frame allocated for preparation between the 5th and 6th semester examinations. We humbly request the university administration to consider postponing the 6th semester examinations to at least the end of June or, preferably, the beginning of July. This will grant us the necessary time to fully engage with the extensive syllabus and prepare adequately.

Currently, students only have three months to absorb, understand, and apply a vast array of knowledge from our coursework. This period is substantially insufficient, given the depth and breadth of the content we are required to master. Such a short span not only places undue stress on students but also compromises the quality of learning. A more reasonable timeline will allow students to engage with the material in a meaningful way, ultimately resulting in better learning outcomes and more successful exam results.

According to academic experts, adequate preparation time is crucial for thorough understanding and retention of complex subject matter. Insufficient preparation periods are often linked with increased anxiety and poor performance, which are detrimental to student well-being and academic success. In the context of a globally competitive job market, it is imperative that students are provided with the optimal conditions to excel in their studies.

Lastly, by extending the examination schedule, the university will showcase its commitment to student welfare and academic excellence. We believe that by taking this step, the university will set a positive precedent, showing that student concerns are heard and acted upon, and educational standards are maintained at the highest level.
