Stray Kids is a South Korean boy band under company JYP Entertainment. The group has eight members; Bangchan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, & I.N.

You may ask, who is impacted?

Recently, a user on Twitter has been posting horrific comments about harming and killing Felix at the Stray Kids Fansign in Qingdao, China. The user’s intention is to shine a laser in Felix’s eye and permanently blind him. Unlike past death threats thrown at Felix, this could actually happen. Not only can lasers blind people, high-power lasers can cause serious burns.

“I bought the laser pen, will use it on Felix (blindness is permanent don’t worry) For the rest let’s see who gets nominated most in the comments maybe I’ll consider” The user said. Another post said “Does Felix’s eyes like the colour of this laser pen?”.

What is at stake?

Felix has been getting a concerning amount of death threats before the fansign. Ever since Stray Kids debuted, Felix has constantly gotten death threats. I'm worried that this psychopathic person will actually manage to get to the fansign and harm not just Felix, but the rest of the members. I care about deeply about the physical and mental health of Stray Kids. They have worked so, so hard on each of their comebacks, to the point where they are burnt out and stressed, but then they get this as a reward? It's not okay, and it doesn't even affect just them. It affects every K-Pop artist, and every music artist outside of the K-Pop industry.

To many STAYS & K-Pop fans, Felix is a kindhearted person whose smiles and laughs enlighten so many people. I view him as a talented idol who does whatever he can to make his fans happy. I can’t understand how some people feel the need to hurt someone, whether they are Felix or any other person on the street.

Now is the time to act, before this event occurs. What if this user does really show up and harms not only Stray Kids, but the fans surrounding them as well? Ent. Companies care much about their image and presentation, and if we get them to see our many complaints, we can get them to protect their artists as much as they possibly can.

This fansign should be cancelled for the safety of Stray Kids. But cancelling an professional event planned for months is hard, even nearly impossible. That said, if we do not manage to cancel the fansign, we should at least make sure the security is amped up as much as possible. This event is getting closer by the minute, and JYPE needs to do something. Ent. Companies are responsible for their artists, and in this moment more than most, they need to be protected. However, with your help, I do believe there is a chance of cancelling this event and ensuring the safety of Stray Kids.

I cannot say that we will eliminate all death threats in the nearby future. But I can say, that if we do this, we can make a great change, one step at a time. So please, sign, and JYPE, PROTECT YOUR ARTISTS!!
