As a British citizen, I and many others that I’ve spoken to believe that now is not the time for our King and Queen to embark on a state visit to the United States. 

Postponing the visit to a later date when the political and social climate in the USA is more stable and predictable will lead to a more successful and strategically significant visit.

Postponement does not imply the abandonment of relationship-building between our countries but instead ensures that the foundations of such a relationship are protected and enhanced without unnecessary turbulence or controversy.

Therefore, we urge the UK Government to postpone this visit until a more stable and harmonious period presents itself, for the benefit of all involved.
