Postpone Osmania University semester 1 exams
Postpone Osmania University semester 1 exams
The Issue
We, the students of affiliated Osmania University, are appealing to the university authorities to reconsider the early scheduling of the Semester 1 examinations for the year 2025. According to the current plan, the exams are set to be held from November 13 to 19, 2025 — almost a month earlier than the schedule followed in previous years.
This decision has created serious academic pressure and anxiety among thousands of first-year students. The issue is not due to student negligence, but because the preparation time allocated is insufficient to adequately cover the syllabus. Most of us have barely acclimated to the new academic environment and are now facing an accelerated exam timetable that compromises our learning experience and educational outcomes.
The traditional schedule provided a balanced timeline that allowed students to thoroughly grasp the material, engage with teachers, and participate in study groups — critical components of the learning process that are now being sacrificed in the rush to meet this new deadline.
Moreover, recent studies indicate that increased academic pressure correlates with heightened stress levels, which can negatively impact students’ mental health. As young adults entering university, managing stress and maintaining good mental health are critical to our overall development and future success.
We propose that the university administration reconsider their decision and postpone the exams to the original timeline. This change will not only help alleviate the unnecessary stress and anxiety currently experienced by students but also ensure that the evaluations genuinely reflect the knowledge and efforts of the students.
We urge you to support this petition to ensure that academic excellence and student well-being are prioritized. Your action in signing this petition can lead to an education system that values not just academic metrics but also the health and potential of its students. Sign now to help us bring about this crucial change!
