Postpone / Cancel 10th & 12th Board Exams – 2022

The Issue

The schools / colleges / coaching classes have been shut since last 2 years. The 2022 batch is the worst affected batch, since they have been studying through the Online Mode during their entire 10th/12th preparation. Schools were just in the phase of getting re-opened, when the governments of most states including Maharashtra decided to again Shut them down, due to the rising Omicron cases.

All the institutes have started commencing with the Offline Mode just recently, when there's less than a month left for the commencement of the Board Exams. The Government needs to understand that, as all the teaching has been done through the Online Mode, most students aren't completely prepared for their exams, because majority of students face tremendous difficulties in understanding, when taught through the Online Classes. Taking offline exams after studying online is completely unfair even in the perspective of students as well as the Teachers.

Also, considering the fact that majority of students are below the age of 18, and aren't completely / even partially vaccinated, it's a potential Health Risk for them as well as their families, because the COVID Protocols aren't properly followed in majority of the Examination Centres.

This can be proved by the fact that 72% out of 1 lakh students have demanded cancellation of the board exams according to the Survey conducted by Times Now between 25 January and 27 January, 2022.

Taking the exams offline is a huge mistake. If you need more time to decide onto this, please do so. But risking student's lives is absolutely not worth it.

It is therefore, a humble request to the Honorable Education Minister, and the concerned authorities, to kindly postpone the board exams by 1-2 months, or else completely Cancel them in the interest of the Health & Safety of the students and considering the fact that majority of students aren't even "Prepared" (Mentally / Academically) for giving their board exams.

"If Teachings Online, Then Why Exams Offline?"

[I would also like to request all the students and parents to kindly sign this petition and share it with as many people as possible, so that this message reaches upto the concerned authorities]

Thank You.
