The Sensible Marijuana Ordinance would bring Portsmouth, Ohio into the 21st Century by reducing penalties for misdemeanor amounts of marijuana to the lowest allowed by law.  

While City Council debates Decriminalization of Marijuana, it's the Mayor and 4th Ward Councilman Andrew McManus that stand in the way.  Councilman McManus believes the people of his ward don't want to make real change for Portsmouth.  We need your help to show him, and the Mayor, how ward 4 and the other citizens of Portsmouth actually feel about the subject.  

Decriminalizing Marijuana using the Sensible Marijuana Ordinance, will save tax payer dollars allowing that money to be reallocated to higher priority issues.  This reduces jail overcrowding, where our young people are being subjected to real criminals   As well as, allowing police more time to focus on serious crime.  It will also allow police to mend relations in minority areas, in hopes to work together to build a better community.  The benefits to Portsmouth will help make our community a better place to live.
