Some justice in Portsmouth today. Another corrupt Chief of police taken out of power, but another will likely fill his shoes. Funny how police only "retire" early when their corruption is made public.

The Portsmouth Police Commission has been quick to sweep this under the rug, and it is more than likely Merner's "retirement" is a strong arm move by the city to save face.

$90,000 is still unaccounted for. Why would the Police Commission be hiding it if it wasn't dirty? Ms. McGranaghan - a woman who clearly did not feel safe in her work environment, and $90,000 seemingly a bribe for silence. They wanted a clean office, McGranaghans complaint's pushed out, the Chief's boots shined.

This is just the tip of corruption in the PPD. They will fight cameras until they are dead and gone, accountability means nothing to those who control the "truth". Now more than ever before does this city need accountabilty and a better police commission. Without transparency, there is only mistrust, lies, and denial...
