Save Feralcatcove DIY Skatepark in the Lents neighborhood of Portland. We are trying to get permission to continue to build Feralcatcove Skatepark off of 100th and Duke in SE Portland! Its a positive community space that attracts people of all ages off the Springwater bike path. It has been a positive outlet for at risk youth during the Coronavirus pandemic. Funded by skaters and the community so far. The land is already zoned for recreation. It has been cleaned up and cared for by the skaters. Its a positive outlet of expression for many and a safe place for the youth! There are not many positive outlets in this area for the youth! We are advocating for liability insurance and permission to proceed with building from Portland Parks and Recreation. We understand the major issue with this project and space is the liability associated with a skatepark. The area was once filled with broken glass, hypodermic needles and dead cars and now is cleaned up and families come here with they’re children to skateboard! We have been teaching the youth Concrete finishing,Masonry and Carpentry and promoting education! The adjacent neighbors are in full support and feel that the skatepark is the best thing that has ever happened in this area! Please help is legitimize Feralcatcove Skatepark and continue to build a all inclusive safe place for the Community of Lents!
