Portage La Prairie could benefit from a Splash Pad in so many ways. Our North End has had nothing for kids to do for years. Yes, we have two aquatic facilities in our city already. They are built beside each other. In the summer, Splash Island is so busy with people from out of town, it's hard for people from Portage to get in. Also it costs money. A LOT of these North End children don't have the means to go to Splash Island. A Splash Pad would give these children an opportunity to be kids, and to play in the water without trying to find transportation and money to do so. Some of these kids don't even have a hose or a sprinkler for hot days. These kids deserve to have their "City of Possibilities" on their side.
