Frank Green started this petition to Port Pirie Regional Council

Frank Green Park is a community park, donated by BHAS for the use of the Port Pirie community.

The Port Pirie Council plan to rezone the park and sell off a large portion as a residential development, and carve out a car park for 70 cars.

This will impact on the size and accessibility of the park, and take away the trees and natural surrounding of the grassed area. Native birds will loose their habitat of the trees surrounding the park. Dogs and their owners will have a significantly reduced area in which to exercise.

When the council converted this park to a dog park there was overwhelming demand from the community for a dog park and still is. Over 200 dog owners signed a petition in 2012 to support the off leash dog park:   https://www.portpirierecorder.com.au/story/263567/dogs-to-roam-free-thanks-to-council-decision/

The township of Port Pirie has many other sites suitable for residential development, and 100's of houses for sale. There is no need to take away the park.

There is support to improve the dog park but please let’s not sell off donated community land to developers.

Please sign this petition to support saving Frank Green Park.

Thank you
