This petition was created with the purpose of requesting bonus compensation for Popeyes employees following the release of the new chicken sandwich.

On August 12, 2019, Popeyes Chicken debuted it’s new Chicken Sandwich nationwide. This caused an explosion on Twitter, notably Black Twitter, which resulted in $23 million in free press. 

As this frenzy continues, the Popeyes Chicken employees have felt the brunt of the chaos. Stores across the country have had to deal with lines out of the store and drive-thru lines wrapped around the building. Furthermore, several videos have surfaced online featuring Popeyes employees being assaulted on the clock by customers angered by the lack of chicken sandwiches.

The success that’s Popeyes has experienced this week would not be possible without the employees on the front line. Because if this, it is only fair that the employees reap some of the benefits of the business’s success. That being said, Popeyes should compensate it’s 2,130 employees with a bonus (minimum $500 each). 

Popeyes Chicken has experienced extreme economic success as a result of all the excitement. The Chicken Sandwich has sold out at several locations nationwide but the company has experienced immense momentum as customers opt for other menu items in the sandwich’s absence. The people at the top should not be the only ones to benefit.
