Nov 11, 2016
Mass will be held at St. Jude Thaddeus Church on Saturday, November 12th (5:00 PM) and Sunday, November 13th (10:30 AM).
St. Thaddeus members have not been given a mass schedule after November 13th, 2016.
The Archdiocese of Chicago wants to close St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and Church.
At a Town Hall Meeting (10-26-16), Bishop Perry, Pastor Sasso, and two other representatives from the Archdiocese were asked if St. Thaddeus had a closing date. Bishop Perry stated that he did not know.
The parishioners have not been told when Mass will held at St. Thaddeus Church again. A letter (10.12.16) from the Pastor inferred that St. Thaddeus Parish/Church will not be open after the November 20th.
St. Thaddeus Church members have been directed to attend a “Welcome” Mass at St. Margaret’s of Scotland on November 20, 2016.
By locking St. Thaddeus Church’s doors on the November 20th, members are being compelled not to support their Home Parish.
St. Thaddeus Parish and Church have not been closed. The Church and Parish are under Canon Law. The procedure to close St. Thaddeus Parish and Church has not been completed or appealed. Notices regarding Closing Parishes and Churches (Notice of Decree) are listed at the Archdiocese of Chicago website.
