The Issue

As you know, due to the recent Covid-19 cases in the UK, many schools have to resort to turning off their heatings and having to open windows to reduce transmisson. This might reduce transmissions but also leaves the students to lose concentration due to extremely cold temperatures in the classroom because we're in a very cold winter. This petition will aim to let the students at Poole High School wear the school PE hoodies during lesson time to stop them from getting extremely cold and aim to warm them up a bit. This is a huge issue for students with unseen illnesses and disorders and would rather wear these items of clothing to keep them warm instead of freezing cold. The school has said the teachers can decide if it's 'cold enough to wear coats'. This is absoloutely ridiculous, if the teacher is warmer, it doesn't particularly mean the students are too. This would be an ideal way to help students as the clothing has the school colours and logo on it, so it technically counts as school uniform. In my opinion, being allowed to wear school hoodies wouldnt affect our education for the worst. It would warm us up and obviously help us concentrate. If they're prepared to open all windows and not turn the heating on (to protect us, I understand) they should also be prepared to allow us to wear PE hoodies and/or coats. Even if you don't go to the school, or you're a concerned parent, please consider signing this petition to help us students, making our school lessons easier and warmer!
