Who is affected?

Primarily residents of Pompadour at Channels Chelmsford who are paying annual service charges for which the developer is not delivering nor maintaining landscaping in line with planning conditions. It does however impact on residents that live in the surround areas of Channels.

What is at stake?

Residents will continue to be charged for maintenance for land that is not being in any way maintained and looks a complete mess.

Why is now the time to act?

Home Group have been given long enough to resolve the issues (the first residents moved in almost 3 years ago and correspondence raising concerns with both the City Council Planning Team & Councillors was as far back as 12th October 2021) and there is currently a City Council Breach of Condition Notice in force however they still refuse to act and have even raised local service charges.

Home Group need to deliver what has been promised and in line with all planning requirements and conditions, including reimbursement of all service charges raised thus far to residents on the basis none of the land is yet suitable for handover to local management.
