Overview:

Many young people today do not understand politics, government, and how leaders make decisions that affect everyone. Because of this, they can be easily influenced by fake news, social media trends, and misleading politicians. If students learn more about politics, they can think critically, choose better leaders, and be responsible citizens in the future.  

This advocacy aims to add political education in senior high school so that students can understand their rights, the roles of government officials, and how to vote wisely. The goal is to make sure young Filipinos are well-informed before making important political decisions.

 

Petition Goal:

To urge the **Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to include basic political education in senior high school subjects.  

 

Why It Matters:

- Many young people lack knowledge about how the government works.  

- Fake news spreads fast, and many students believe false information.
