to still recognize kade cooper and put up an empty chair for him at graduation.

The Issue

Pocatello High School senior Kade Cooper tragically decided to end his own life January 2021. Kade was active in sports at Pocatello High School throughout his highschool career and was well known and loved by everyone that knew him. Kade was only 4 months shy of graduating with his class. Kades parents asked for one small last request that his name be read at graduation but that was quickly dismissed and so they asked to at least have an empty chair where he would have been sitting, next to his best friend but that was also quickly dismissed. It has come to light after a long battle that the administration has finally agreed to allow an empty chair at graduation BUT they will not acknowledge WHO the chair is for...KADE COOPER, a fellow student and classmate. We, as many of his friends and family, feel his parents, siblings, and fellow classmates should still get the honor of having a chair up for Kade at graduation. We are not trying to glorify anything with Kade’s situation. What we are trying to do is STOP the stigma and spread awareness of suicide. Kade’s friends and family deserve this one last monumental thing that would’ve happened in Kade’s life. Please support us in sharing and signing this petition with as many people as possible so we can get an empty chair next to his best friend and where he would have been sitting and have it be In memory of Kade at graduation.
