Small business owners around the De La Salle University (DLSU) area have been struggling with an unusual problem - spurious PWD (Persons With Disabilities) ID cards. These cards are for PWDs to ease their day-to-day expenses. Still, illegitimate cardholders are taking undue advantage of this law, causing financial strain on small businesses, and inconveniencing actual PWDs. Moreover, there is an alarming increase in the occurrence of these incidents. Our documentary aims to shine a light on these experiences, revealing the impact of this misuse on PWDs and small businesses around the area.

This project will contain a mini social media campaign, a petition, and a documentary covering the experience of businesses around the area, the motive of illegitimate PWDs, and statements from legit PWDs on how the issue affects them. 

The documentary will answer these questions:

• How do illegitimate PWD IDs within the DLSU community affect the integrity and fairness of support systems for individuals with genuine disabilities?
• What measures can be taken to prevent these fraudulent practices?

Your signatures will not only support the creation of this documentary but more importantly, they will also be included in a DSWD grievance to contain suggestions from our interviewees.
