The Issue

I pledge to vote for candidates that support environmental justice in Maryland’s primary on June 23, 2026, because our future depends on it.

South Baltimore has the highest recorded toxic air emissions in the nation. At a time when federal leaders are attacking climate science and threatening environmental protections like the EPA’s Endangerment Finding — the very foundation that allows the government to regulate greenhouse gas pollution — Maryland must lead with courage, urgency, and accountability to protect its citizens.

The climate crisis is here now. From extreme heat and flooding to rising energy costs and worsening air quality, Maryland communities are already carrying the burden. And as the rapid expansion of data centers and AI infrastructure drives unprecedented energy demand, Maryland faces critical choices about land use, energy affordability, grid reliability, and who benefits — or suffers — from development.

We cannot allow Baltimore City and Baltimore County to pay the price for unchecked growth or political inaction.

Maryland’s Climate Solutions Now Act set ambitious goals to dramatically reduce emissions (and direct a percentage of funding to benefit disproportionately affected communities) by 2031 — and that deadline is approaching fast. Reaching those goals will require more than promises from elected officials. It will require informed, engaged, and organized voters demanding action.

I pledge to vote for and support leaders who:

  • Protect clean air, clean water, and public health.
  • Center environmental justice in every energy and development decision.
  • Hold corporations accountable for pollution and resource extraction.
  • Invest in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and affordable access to utilities.

I believe Baltimore can push Maryland to be a national leader in environmental justice, but only if we show up, speak out, and vote.

This election is about more than politics. It is about whether future generations inherit a livable, equitable, and resilient Maryland.

On June 23, I pledge to vote for climate accountability, environmental justice, and a future fueled by people and their values, not corporate interests.
