In every democracy, voting is a fundamental right as well as a civic duty. Yet, according to the United States Election Project, only a fraction of eligible voters typically turn out for local elections, with turnout sometimes dipping below 20% in non-presidential voting years.

Unfortunately, voter turnout traditionally decreases in runoffs, which often decide the final outcome. 

We need to change this picture in Lake Charles for the Local Elections runoff voting on May 3, 2025.

We can not allow an even smaller group of people to decide for us all.

We must improve this condition and ensure that all voices from Lake Charles are heard in a meaningful way.

To continue to amplify the diverse voices of Lake Charles, every citizen who voted in the initial election must step up again for the runoff.
