Please support Doncaster lad Richie vallance in his bid to become Independent Mayor

The Issue

I am generation X, born and raised in the heart of Doncaster. I have seen our town go through numerous changes, witnessing first-hand the implications of policy decisions made by those not truly in touch with our unique challenges, needs, and desires. I've watched as our home has been altered, season after season, by decisions informed by greed and injustice. The fabric of Doncaster is its people and as part of this community, it's time to stand up and take our town back.

What truly identifies a town, its spirit and heart, is often incompatible with figures in official reports. However, the decimation we have experienced, the physical and emotional toll it has taken on our community, can no longer be ignored. We need a leader who can not only see this but is also ready to affect progressive change. Richie Vallance, with his deep roots and investment in our community, is the perfect candidate.

But we cannot affect change without your support. Sign this petition to symbolize your support for Richie Vallance in the 2025 mayoral elections, for a leader who truly understands and represents our town. Let us work together to make Doncaster, Doncaster again! Sign the petition today, and let's reclaim our town for the people, by the people.

Richie Vallance: Doncaster Mayoral Manifesto 2025:

Let’s Make Doncaster, Doncaster.

A Personal Letter From Richie Vallance

Hi, I’m Richie Vallance, your fully independent candidate for Mayor of Doncaster and Central Ward Councillor. Donny born and bred, raised around Hyde Park, Town Centre and the estates, I’m not your typical politician — and I never will be. What I am is someone who has lived through the struggles of this town, someone who knows what it means to grow up poor, someone who’s seen corruption up close and isn’t afraid to call it out.

A decade ago, I stood as an independent candidate in Intake and Wheatley Hills. Despite local backlash, slander, and family-related issues, I still earned nearly 2% of the poll- over a hundred votes — not bad for someone with no party machine behind them. I walked the streets with a megaphone, I showed up where others wouldn’t, and I’ve kept going because I love Doncaster and believe in its people.

Now I’m standing for Doncaster Central — where I grew up — and for Mayor. Why both? Because I’m committed to representing our communities from the ground up, without a party whip or backroom deals.

Why I’m Independent

I refuse to join any political party. I’ve seen the secrets, the hypocrisy, the way candidates polish their image while hiding their true records under official secrecy. Once they’re in office, you can’t touch them. Not me. My full criminal record and DBS checks are public. My life has been lived out loud. Yes, I’ve made mistakes. But I’ve always stood by the people.

I’ve been bullied, slandered, accused — often by the very same people who protect paedophiles or turn a blind eye to corruption. I’ve never claimed to be squeaky clean, but I am real. And that’s what Doncaster needs.

The Truth About Doncaster

I grew up in and out of care. I’ve been through social services, care homes, institutions, and psychiatric wards. I saw how the system failed us — how files went missing, how abusers were protected, how whistleblowers like me were silenced. Some of those same people now sit in powerful positions in Doncaster Council and Children’s Services.

There are hundreds of known abusers in Doncaster. Many are protected. Many reoffend. What happened at Rossington? Skellow Hall? How many files disappeared when the Council House was demolished? Why are we still hiding the truth?

This isn’t paranoia — it’s lived experience. And I’ve spent twenty years fighting back, campaigning against CSE, supporting victims, and calling for justice. I’ve even been accused of the very crimes I stand against. That’s what happens when you speak out.

Our City Deserves More

Doncaster is not a real city until it acts like one. We need:

A New Hospital, free parking for staff, better support for our NHS.

Infrastructure that connects town to Hyde Park, Hexthorpe, Balby, the Flats — not just Lakeside.

Pedestrianised town centre, one-way for traffic and scooters, with a tram or monorail linking main attractions.

Strict anti-social behaviour controls — no gangs of 5+, no drug dealers, no violence, and no tolerance for abuse.

Street-level renewal — flowers, benches, toilets, music, entertainment, buskers, deep cleans, and proper policing.

Ban property magnates like Lazarus and Rothwell from snapping up heritage buildings.

Lower business rates and stall fees to bring back Doncaster’s market culture.

Revamp skateparks, youth centres and recreation spots — even a theme park and mega fairground is feasible.

Real Community, Real Memories

Doncaster shaped me. From running up high-rise stairs in the Flats, to swimming in canals near the prison, playing in derelict buildings, skating down subways, and hearing Tony shout “Five lighters a pound!” at Clock Corner — this town raised us. We had nothing but we had everything: loyalty, friendship, freedom.

Now, our old playgrounds are crumbling. Our communities are shrinking. And Labour’s plan is to turn everything into a car park or flog it off to developers.

We need to bring our heritage back — and extend the town centre into the neglected areas. Let’s reconnect Donny’s heart to its real people.

A Call To Action

To the voters: Don’t be distracted by slander or lies. I don’t sling mud. I stay focused on you. If people attack me, let them. I’ve been through worse, and I’ve come out stronger.

To the other candidates — the Quockerwodgers, the lazy career politicians, the Tory rejects, the sell-outs and the quiet enablers of abuse — I say this: You had your chance. Now it’s ours.

This manifesto is for the kids who went hungry, the mums who worked two jobs, the young people left behind by every government. This is for the true Doncastrians.

Vote Richie Vallance — Independent for Mayor and Central Ward. Let’s Make Doncaster, Doncaster.

Much love. We’re all in this together.

Richie
