The Issue

Have you noticed the strong paint/primer odor in the late afternoon/early evening?

My family, my neighbors, and I are regularly exposed to noxious and potentially hazardous chemicals originating from Crash Champions Collision Repair in Oak Park. Our health and quality of life are negatively affected by the fumes that fill our homes when we open our windows, and that linger for hours over the park and surrounding area.

Recent attempts to address these concerns with the Village of Oak Park and the business owners have proved futile. They have responded only to the extent of asserting the paint booths comply with air quality standards inside the booth, but have failed to address or remedy the adverse effects of the external pollution on the surrounding homes and community.

Our pursuit of good health, clean air, and a safe community starts with this petition.

Please join us in raising awareness by signing this petition.  Note, you can sign the petition anonymously.  Please also consider sharing with our neighbors that may be impacted, or on local social media groups or chats.

Next steps: once we’ve reached a petition goal we’ll share this page with Crash Champs and the Village, share the best Village contact info and links to forms they may provide to more formally register concerns, and keep you informed on any progress made in resolving this matter.

-Thanks for your support.
