Inspired by #BirdieSanders: We The People (Meat-Eaters, Vegetarians & Vegans UNITED) will no longer accept the status quo of cruelty towards birds and animals in the name of corporate interests or inconvenience. Corporate money has lobbied hard against humane treatment for all animals in order to increase profits. We the People on behalf of ALL ANIMALS, ALL BIRDS~in farms, animals used for fur/hide, horses, research, pet trade~ALL MUST HAVE REGULATED STANDARDS of ethical and humane treatment under the Animal Welfare Act, and it is essential that these federal regulations exist in one place instead of scattered throughout many laws. We suggest a renaming of the Animal Welfare Act to the Animal Rights Act, since the Animal Welfare Act has been a joke since conception. In order to prevent continued corporate lobbying to prevent humane animal and bird treatment~Animals & Birds need to be declared in the law sentient beings with rights. Human advocates of animals and birds can sue for violations on behalf of animals based on evidence from the (non-corporate) scientific community to ensure ethical standards are set AND enforced. We The People STAND UP for our fellow Sentient beings as a sacred and ethical duty. We demand Congress include these RIGHTS in the Animal Rights/Welfare Act and uphold them.
