Stop the plans to build a skyscraper on the Worthing Aquarena site!
The Issue
After viewing Roffey's latest proposal for the Aquarena site we feel that the scheme is better than the previous one but it's still not right for Worthing seafront. Please register your objections for 6th Jan by clicking on the link below and then going to the 'comments' tab.

OBJECTIONS
The height, mass bulk and density are overbearing and do not respect the character and local distinctiveness of the borough.
It does not maintain, preserve or enhance the historic character of worthing.
The height of the tower at 15 storeys (around 45 metres) is far and away taller than anything in the vicinity.
The closeness to the beach of the tower is overbearing. It will dominate the seafront and overpower the houses along New Parade.
A very tall building in this sensitive location will set a precedent and potentially lead to a proliferation of similar structures on what has up to now been a relatively low rise seafront.
A prime seafront location adjacent to a conservation area, close to a Beach House, a significant historic listed building, and next door to the new 'iconic' civil asset (Splashpoint Leisure Centre) is not an appropriate context for this scheme.

Worthing's untouched skyline and promenade makes it a unique and iconic West Sussex seaside tow. The suggested eyesore would jeopardise its charm, beauty and cultural heritage which has been enjoyed by thousands of residents and tourists for many years.
Take a stroll along Worthing pier on a clear day and look back at the existing structures on the seafront – please be sensible!
