Woodbridge skatepark is home to a tight knit community of skateboarders, scooters, bikers, roller bladers and more. Typically the park is bustling with people from all walks of life enjoying its amenities, but in the winter months it is empty and depressing. This is not due to the cold weather, but simply due to the lights not turning on. Yes the lights. A seemingly unimportant and benign feature that ruins a great thing for many people. The mental health of many hinges on wether they can or cannot skate and after a long day of work or school those people need the skatepark to destress and have fun. In the townships own words at a town-hall meeting the lights should have already been on. There is absolutely 0 reason why the township cannot take a few minutes out of there day to turn the lights on for the skatepark. It makes us in the community feel unimportant and belittled. There is no downside to turning the lights on and the townships laziness will not be tolerated anymore. So please share this petition and help make an impact on our local skatepark.
