Max is now at the St. Croix Animal Shelter in Woodbury
Stillwater Police Thursday were considering charges against a woman who left her dog home alone in what they called deplorable conditions. On June 5th, Neighbors heard the dog barking at 2814 Woodridge Ln. in Stillwater and called police.
They told police the dog’s owner, Ryanne Amber Reese, had not been at the house in days. Police went to the home to investigate and found newspapers in the driveway and the grass very long. A police officer went in through an open door and found the dog locked in a bedroom. There was no food or water for the dog and the officer estimated that the temperature in the room was well over 100 degrees. The officer also estimated that the dog had been in the room for about a week.
Police were able to get a hold of the woman’s ex-husband who told her that the woman was in Missouri and had been gone since May 30th. They also learned the dog’s name is Max. Animal control assisted the officer and brought Max to the St. Croix Animal Rescue in Woodbury, where he’ll remain until the case makes its way through the courts. Reese faces possible charges of animal neglect.
