Please Help Me Get Parole Denied ... I Still Want Justice for My Dad!!
The Issue
The man that pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the death of my father on May 8, 1992, is now being considered for parole. Clem Clemmons received 50 years for second-degree murder and 10 years for robbery to be served consecutively. He is now being considered for parole. Please show the Parole Commission that you do not want this man released back into the community.
My children never got to meet their grandfather -- a man who would have been over the moon for them. My grandchildren will never get to meet their great-grandfather. They will only hear stories. The opportunity for my Mother and Father to grow old together was violently taken from them.
For about 30 years now, I have fought almost every year for all three of the men who were arrested and indicted in my father's killing to be held accountable. I vowed I would always fight for my Father, his memory and for justice for him.
My Father doesn't get to be "paroled" from his grave. He can never come back. He did nothing wrong but work and care for his family and friends. On the other hand, Mr. Clemmons pleaded guilty to his part in the crime. How is it fair HE gets a chance to return to society? He shouldn't. Choices were made that day and those responsible for the crime should be held accountable for their entire sentence.
Please help me show the Parole Commission you do not want him released. He needs to continue to be held accountable for his role in the crime. My father recieved a death sentence for working hard. Shouldn't someone who was in part responsible for handing out that death sentence continue to be held responsible for his choices no matter how much time he has served? How would you feel if you were walking in our shoes? Would you want someone who was a party to such violence out walking the streets knowing you could run into him anywhere? The only way to prevent it is for me to ask for support from each of you. Apparently, my words alone no longer hold weight with the Parole Commission since they are considering letting him out. Hopefully, they will listen when there is strength in numbers. Please help us by signing this petition to ask the NC Parole Commission to deny parole for Clem Clemmons.
