Please fix the account merger issue on Bricklink

The Issue

Bricklink is a website where you can buy used and new LEGO products from around the world. Even if they are discontinued. But it also allows many people to use this to buy Lego products for passion projects , mocs, and customization. Both sellers and customers were spectacle about the Lego account merger that would take into effect on September 18th. Which would "link" both Bricklink users' profiles to their Lego account into one.

 

 However, this didn’t go as expected when the day finally came. Since many people used the actual Bricklink website to create their own accounts before.

 

This caused a slight problem when the account merger took full effect. They couldn't sign in. The sign-in options didn’t even give the option to sign in using an existing Bricklink account. This recent account LEGO account merger update also made it difficult for you to browse on the site freely because it would ask for your year of birth every time. Many users have called this constant pop-up very annoying. Also, even if you are already signed in before the LEGO account merger update, you can't buy or add anything to your cart/wishlist. Which is because it wants you to sign up using your Lego account.  Even though you were already logged in using your Bricklink account. This only adds to many frustrations to many users.

 

One of them being myself. I had only used Bricklink a few times and in both those times. It proved to be very great website to get discontinued Lego sets there and my satisfied feedback helped the sellers. I wish to continue using the website but this recent account merger makes it difficult for me to use my Bricklink account.

 

I ask Lego and Bricklink to do one of the following choices to improve the website for all of its users. Not just for me but to  the many users who are also struggling with the website's recent account merger.

 

1. Return the website to how it was weeks ago. That way it doesn't overcomplicate the website for its users. New or pre existing before this account merger update.

 

2. Put an option for using your Bricklink account. Like if you made an account before the merger from September 18. Let's say you made it back in 2020 . Therefore , you would still be able to access it and use it. This way many users who buy or sell on the website can continue using the website as they please. Without any of the account merger problems.
