It’s a shame on what Paldea was like with Regional Forms after only 2 gens, the reason for that however is still yet to be explained, like say it could be due to being on the same system as another game with regional forms, or it could be to do with either Legends Arceus or the Paradox Pokémon that Scarlet & Violet have. With that being said, it has me wondering if Gen X or Gen XI on the Switch 2 will also be like that in terms of their new region, where one of them might only have 2 regional forms to offer due to how the game plays out, or maybe even none at all. 

of course there sorts of regions that just have to have regional forms based on countries with their particular sorts of wildlife and cultures and plants and rocks and other things about them, for one with Australia. Such a region would be the time to do something for the Helioptile line in particular, they can have a regional forms based that gives proper Frill Necked Lizard colours and be the original forms of those Pokemon. Whatever types they get given meanwhile should be Fire/Normal based on how people thought how neither Helioptile and Heliolisk are Fire types to go with their association with the sun, even though a Mega Evolution of Heliolisk could very much gain the Fire type, the Pokedex can even mention how these Pokemon traded their heat for electricity, either way they’ll still evolve using a sun stone. Other regional forms an Australia based region should have is a rock based Pokemon taking influence from a popular sort of Australian Rock, and ones based off specific wildlife such as the box jellyfish for jellyfish based Pokemon like Tentacruel.

So whenever the time comes to introduce an Australia based region, it should be saved for a region that does offer new regional forms, atleast 10 lines of such more specifically, and where it’s not restricted to Pokémon introduced in a specific gen. This comes even after there’s nothing new left to do in terms of these things, the only thing left there is to do with regional forms that the upcoming Winds & Waves might be able to do is in fact there being lines with fewer stages then their regular forms and regional forms that din’t evolve like their regular forms do.
