Please deny a right-of-way permit for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline!

The Issue

Pipelines do not belong in Virginia's national forests.

Both the Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley Pipelines are a threat to rare species and construction of these pipelines would fragment habitat, isolate populations, increase forest edge and threaten the survival of populations of the wildlife species.

The permanently cleared swath of land would allow for the invasion of non-native species and disease into the national forests.

Sedimentation caused by construction could threaten water quality and native brook trout streams.

The construction of these pipelines would degrade the exceptional scenic and recreation value of Virginia's national forests.

The presence of these pipelines in the national forest would make these areas more desirable for natural gas drilling and fracking.

Pipelines threaten Virginia communities who live closely to the land and threatens the unique rural character of Virginia’s mountain communities, many of whom base their subsistence and livelihood on the integrity of the land.

Please deny a right-of way permit for pipelines through our national forests!
