Dear Govenor Corbett,

Please help me and sign a bill, banning plastic shopping bags in our beautiful state of Pennslyvania. The plastic shopping bags are used for only a short period of time and then spend 500 years in landfills, hurting the Earth. Each year Americans use more than 100 billion plastic grocery bags, consuming an estimated 12 million barrels of oil. WOW! We have to find a different way to bring home products from grocery stores and other places that use plastic bags.  These same plastic bags which are created using a limited resource and oil does not last forever, neither does water. Please consider banning plastic bags and in addition gifting each household in Pennsylvania with a cloth bag, made right here from small businesses in Pennslyvania as a start. It would put Americans to work, put more money into our system in Pennsylvania, stop pollution, and our dependance on oil.

So please, please ban plastic bans.
