As one among the many who have been affected by the contaminated marine base, I write to amplify the voices of my fellow Marines and their families who have suffered due to the contaminated water supply at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, from 1953 to 1987. Let it not be forgotten that we bathed in and ingested tap water with harmful chemicals at concentrations up to 3,400 times the current safety levels. Heartbreaking health conditions such as ALS, fatty liver disease, infertility, Parkinson's Disease and several types of cancer have since been our cross to bear, a burden we believe was intentionally concealed by the USMC leaders.

The Camp Lejeune Justice Act (CLJA) was signed into law on August 10th, 2023. This breakthrough intended to compensate the Marines and their families for their exposure to the poisoned water at Camp Lejeune. Nonetheless, since the law’s inception, out of approximately 550,000 claims filed by sick or dying service members and their families, less than 200 offers for settlement have been made. This is plainly insufficient and unjust.

The time for action is now. We ask that President Trump and our congressional leaders prioritize and expedite the settlement processes for the victims of this outrageous health scandal. Please do whatever is necessary to deliver justice to the desperate service members and their families awaiting their due compensation. It is the least that can be done for those who have served our nation with valor. Please, sign this petition urging our leaders to act.
