Plea for HSE to do the right thing #AdmitTheReport

The Issue

A man whose wife and four-day-old baby boy died in Cork University Maternity Hospital has pleaded with the Health Service Executive to “do the right thing” and allow an independent review into their tragic deaths be admitted as evidence at their upcoming inquests.

The independent review team made eleven recommendations, designed to improve maternity services and make things safer for mums and babies - so that a terrible tragedy like this doesn’t happen again. The hospital say they accept the report in full and all of its recommendations, but they haven’t agreed to make the report public. Why?

The admission of the report into the public inquest process is the only way the family believe they can ensure that the enquiry is open and transparent. They have asked for it to be admitted and we believe this is the least they deserve, after everything they have already suffered. We stand with them.

Please sign this petition to help reverse the decision of the HSE not to admit the report.

We are a group of ordinary people making a plea on behalf of a family fighting for justice, and for their two special angels whose legacy will be safer maternity services in Ireland.
